Stripe Integration

Connect your organization to Stripe to accept payments for Marketplace listings and school enrollments.

Overview

Locuto.PRO integrates with Stripe to allow your organization to process payments. When you connect your school to Stripe, you can securely sell course enrollments directly to students or publish paid listings on the Locuto.PRO Marketplace.

Connecting Stripe

To accept payments, your school must connect a Stripe account.

  1. Go to My School → Accounting.
  2. Look for the Connect Stripe option.
  3. You will be redirected to the Stripe onboarding flow to either create a new Stripe Connect account or link an existing one.
  4. Complete the required verification steps.

Once connected, your account status will show as active, and you will be able to set prices on your courses.

Live mode vs. test mode

Locuto.PRO provides safety gates to prevent accidental live charges during testing, or test transactions on your live school.

  • Make sure the Stripe account you connect is in the mode you intend to use.
  • The platform will prevent publishing Marketplace listings if an unsafe mode is detected.

You are the merchant of record

When a buyer pays for one of your Marketplace listings, your school is the merchant of record. The money goes to your Stripe account, the buyer's card statement shows your school, and the responsibility for the sale — including refunds — is yours. Locuto.PRO processes the payment and takes a platform fee; it does not sell the course on your behalf. Buyers are told this before they pay.

Current listing price rules and any minimums are shown by the listing form and the public Pricing page. This guide does not repeat configured amounts.

Payouts

Funds collected from students or Marketplace buyers are deposited directly into your connected Stripe account, subject to Stripe's standard payout schedule and any applicable platform fees.

Refunds

Refunds work differently depending on what was paid for.

What was paid forHow a refund happens
A Marketplace listingYou issue it yourself, in your own Stripe Dashboard. There is no refund button in Locuto.PRO.
A school payment link (tuition, balance top-up)Refund on the payment row in My School → Accounting. Owners and Operations admins only.
A billed lesson that was canceled or deletedAutomatic — no one issues anything. See Cancelling and deleting lessons.

There is no in-product refund button for a Marketplace sale. A buyer who wants one is shown your school's support address and asked to contact you; you then refund the charge in your Stripe Dashboard. Locuto.PRO notices the refund afterwards and removes the buyer's access to the material, and tells them it happened.

The refund window you can state on a listing is a promise to buyers, not a rule the platform enforces. Nothing stops a refund after it lapses, and nothing issues one automatically inside it — it tells buyers what to expect from you.

Refunding a school payment link is not reversible in Locuto.PRO, and it debits the student's balance, which can leave it negative.

Support

If you encounter issues with Stripe verification, payouts, or account restrictions, you must resolve them directly through your Stripe dashboard, as Locuto.PRO does not hold your funds.
