Account Registration and Onboarding
Create an account, confirm access, and complete onboarding.

New students, teachers, and organization admins who are creating a Locuto.PRO account for the first time.

1. Choose a sign-up method
Locuto.PRO supports two registration paths:
- Continue with Google — recommended for most users because it reduces password setup and keeps sign-in simple.
- Email and password — use this when your school requires a separate login or when you cannot use Google.
Self-registration is available on the main Locuto.PRO platform. On a school's branded domain, create your account from that school's invite link. Registration without the right invite or membership is blocked, and an invite from another school will not work.
Continue with Google
With Google One Tap, you can register or log in with your Google account without leaving the current page. You can also click Continue with Google on the registration page, choose the Google account you want to use, and approve the sign-in screen. Locuto.PRO uses Google to confirm your identity and basic profile details. It does not need your Google password.
After Google sign-in, you are returned to Locuto.PRO and continue directly into onboarding unless your account already exists.
Register with email
Enter your email address, password, and password confirmation, then submit the registration form. Locuto.PRO sends a confirmation email before the account can be used.
Open the message in your inbox and follow the verification link. If the message does not arrive, check spam or ask whoever runs your school to confirm that the email address is correct.
2. Guest Try-Out and Conversion
Unregistered guests can try out certain interactive features, such as Pronunciation Assessment exercises. Guest use is limited. On your second attempt, you will see a registration prompt. Create an account to continue practicing and save your progress.
3. If you register without an invite
Users who register on the main platform without an invite are not automatically connected to a school.
For students, the next path is one of these:
- create self-study materials and learn independently
- buy suitable learning materials on Marketplace (personal self-study or full courses with live class lessons — see Marketplace Courses)
- find a teacher and send a join request
For teachers, complete your profile and availability schedule early. Students can send join requests for specific time slots only when your available teaching times are visible.
4. Complete the Setup wizard
After registration or first sign-in, Locuto.PRO opens the Setup wizard. The wizard collects only the setup data needed for your role. Profile fields are laid out in columns rather than one long stack, so each step stays short, and there is no separate phone-number step to work through.
Shared steps
The setup wizard greets you with a calm welcome in your chosen interface language. Most users complete these shared steps:
- Choose interface language: The platform is available in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Spanish, Czech, German, and French. The welcome greeting updates immediately to your selected language, and email notifications follow this preference.
- Select your role: The step counter remains frozen while you evaluate role tiles, only updating once your choice is confirmed.
- Complete basic profile details: Your timezone and native language keep schedules and notifications accurate. If you teach or study across multiple schools, your display name and profile details are stored per school organization, allowing tailored professional profiles at each organization.
- Set up an avatar, or skip it and add one later.
Choose the correct role before continuing. Role changes may require administrator help or a new account.
Student onboarding
Students complete:
- interface language
- role selection
- basic profile details (first name, last name, native language, timezone)
- study goal selection (e.g., travel, career, exam preparation, or general fluency — used to personalize teacher recommendations and study materials)
- avatar setup (or skip for later)
Locuto.PRO does not require a phone number during registration or onboarding. Your email address and optional Google account handle your authentication.
After the wizard, the student lands on the Dashboard and can join a course or class, open an invitation, or review scheduled lessons.
Teacher onboarding
Teachers complete the shared steps plus teaching profile details. Depending on the school flow, the wizard can also ask for:
- organization invite code
- teaching languages
- the rest of your teaching profile
Pick your teaching languages from the tile grid: one tile per language, showing the language written in its own script with the name underneath. Tap a tile to select it. The level starts at B2, and you change it on the row of level chips that appears on the selected tile. Tap the tile again to deselect it.
After onboarding, the teacher can open the School guide, create lessons, join an organization, or start working from assigned courses.
Set your availability schedule before inviting independent students to request lessons. This lets students choose a concrete time slot instead of sending a vague request.
Organization admin onboarding
New organization Owners default to the lean Solo Teacher workspace profile during onboarding, keeping the daily navigation clean and focused on lesson authoring and teaching. You can toggle between Solo Teacher and School Tools at any time from your sidebar footer.
- Solo Teacher Profile (Default for new Owners) — Focuses on direct course creation, lesson authoring, and student management without extraneous administrative chrome.
- School Tools Profile — Expands the navigation to include teacher teams, classes, campus analytics, and organization-wide operations.
Setup Gate is Navigational Only: The onboarding wizard guides first-time setup smoothly. Platform access and actions are authorized based on genuine account permissions and data prerequisites, not on whether the setup wizard stamp was completed.
If your signup is interrupted
Closing the tab, losing connection, or simply stopping partway no longer costs you the work you already did:
- What you typed is kept in your browser. When you come back, the wizard offers it to you with a restore or discard prompt, so you decide whether to pick up where you were or start that step clean.
- Leaving a step with unsaved edits warns you first, rather than dropping them silently.
- You resume at the step you were actually on, even if the wizard's steps have changed since your last visit.
An invite code is deliberately never kept. For security it is left out of the restored data, so enter it again when you return.
5. When an invite is already attached
If you arrived from an organization invite or an instant lesson invite, Locuto.PRO can pre-fill part of the onboarding context. In that case, you may skip some role or invite-code steps because the platform already knows where the account should be connected.
Complete the remaining profile steps and continue to the destination from the invite.
6. After onboarding
Use the first action for your role:

The Getting started checklist
Your dashboard keeps a Getting started checklist of the setup steps left for your role. It promotes a single next action into a highlighted card with a direct button to do it, a way to skip it if it does not apply to you, and an expandable tips panel with short how-to videos. The remaining steps collapse into compact groups per stage, each with a counter, so a long list stays readable.
Progress is remembered on your account, not in the browser, so the checklist does not reset when you move between the main Locuto.PRO site and a school's own address.
